EPA/DHA are cholinergic, increasing acetylcholine levels in the brain. Too much choline causes depression, anxiety, brain fog, etc. This is the likely cause of your symptoms, not "rancid" oil. Most of the vegetable oils you consume are likely rancid too, especially if you're eating processed vegan products.
I started questioning the essentiality of omega 3, specially regarding it's role in lipid peroxidation and acrolein formation. Not giving out any advice, but appearently the symptoms associated with "omega 3 deficiency" (Burr and Burr, 1929) can be cured with zinc and B6, the latter unkown at the time.
A deficiency of essential fatty acidsâeither omega-3s or omega-6sâcan cause rough, scaly skin and dermatitis -

You can then recombine the triglycerides (rTG) using the EE fatty acids to create rTGs with more omega-3 fatty acids per molecule. TG and rTG forms go straight into the blood. EEs need to first be converted to TG form in the lumen of the intestine, a process that takes time and requires a source of glycerol.

In a third clinical trial, OMEMI, 5 1027 older patients who had had a recent myocardial infarction were randomized to receive an intermediate dose, 1.8 g/d, of omega-3 fatty acids (a combination of EPA and
Unfortunately the two times I supplemented Omega 3 both turned out disasterous. In 2016 I took Omega 3 gel capsules, instantly got worse brain fog, couldn't think straight. Got agitated.
